SOLAIMAN FAMILY & FOUNDATION PROJECTS:

Ashwadia Girls High School and  Neazpur High School for boys in Noakhali, Bangladesh . Co-founded in 1975. There were no high schools in these remote rural areas near the Bay of Bengal. Each school now enrolls over a thousand students.

Bhulua Degree College in Neazpur Union, Noakhali, Bangladesh. Co-founded in 1994. This college is now government approved graduating hundreds of students each year.

Sultana English School, Olipur village, Noakhali, Bangladesh. Founded in 2006. This school now has over 120 students enrolled thru 7th grade with several students receiving merit scholarships from the Bangladesh government. Students are taught primarily in English and have been introduced to computers. The third floor was completed in 2012 and is expected to be functional from mid-2013 as the technology and vocational wing. We expect our students to be technologically savvy once we have sufficient resources for more computers and internet access. Our aim is to provide quality education and training for our children to become professionals and responsible and respected leaders who will contribute positively to society.

Technical and Vocational School and College: The Foundation has applied to the Bangladesh  Government for permission to open a Technical and Vocational School to later become a college teaching computers, electrical work, carpentry, building maintenance, and auto mechanics.

Neazpur Library in Neazpur village, Noakhali, Bangladesh . The Foundation built a 2000 SF library in between Neazpur High School and Bhulua Degree College. The concept of a library for the public is non-existent in the village. This building was built with a three-story foundation for future expansion with 6,000 sft. of space.  This building will also cater to community activities such as adult education.

Scholarships:  The Foundation awards scholarships to poor and meritorious local students to pursue studies in schools and colleges.

Orphanage: In 2005 the Foundation established an orphanage on land donated by the founders. The primary purpose of the orphanage is to provide totally free education, food, clothing and shelter along with love and affection. Our orphanage has no connection to any madrasa. Our aim is to help our orphans develop into respectable citizens with a broad education.

Health Services: In 1998 the Foundation donated land, infrastructure and development cost to establish a small hospital and health care center next to our school and orphanage. Local villagers, primarily women and children, now have access to basic health care. The Foundation plans to introduce access to specialty care in the near future once we have sufficient and steady funding.

Humanitarian Activities: The Foundations helps provide for the welfare for extremely poor elderly and disabled people in rural village with stipends and other support for basic needs. The Foundation has provided medical and financial assistance to poor patients, primarily children and mothers, suffering from acute and chronic ailments.

Housing: The Foundation recently started building basic homes for selected local poor homeless families who make efforts to work hard and want to educate their children. The Foundation covers all costs.

Drinking Water: The Foundation donated land and arranged the building of a large water filtration unit to provide drinking water free of arsenic, iron and phosphates to local villagers.

Spiritual: The Foundation donated land and arranged the construction of a small beautiful mosque for the general public. Built in 2005, the mosque has regular prayer services and basic religious classes.
